Hi there,

Throughout our nine years together, I have often wondered if Stephen is going slowly insane. It may have something to do with the fact that I am incredibly high-maintenance (according to my revolting brothers-in-law) or the fact that he is suffering from sleep-deprivation from his job, but lately I am getting rather concerned that he may, actually, be losing the plot.
Take last night, for example. I had enjoyed a rather leisurely bubble bath along with a fabulous new book and glass of MLH (Mommy's Little Helper), and was strolling down the passage in nothing but my bath towel when I heard Stephen talking to someone. I was slightly taken aback, because Kayla was in bed and (as far as I knew) no-one else was in the house. But being the cautious person that I am and not wanting to inspire some poor visitor to feelings of uncontrollable lust, I sprinted back to the bedroom and hurriedly changed into my sexy blue Garfield pajamas, before venturing back to the kitchen to see who was there. Only to be met by Stephen, on his own, calmly slicing mushrooms and defrosting a packet of mince. Read more.
The good news (one must always think positively when one's husband is losing his marbles), is that Stephen made the Homemade Mediterranean Beef Burgers with Caramelized Red Onions that our foodie experts recommended last week. They are highly addictive. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us in our "What's Cooking" section next week!
More good news is that Original* Iced is offering one reader AND a friend the chance to win Original* Iced Cocktail packs. All you need to do is nominate a friend you believe needs to "chill out" and tell us why. Click here to see who I have chosen, and to enter the competition.
A few events on my radar screen this week:
- The EFC ( Extreme Fighting Championship) takes place at the Coca-Cola Dome at 7pm on Wednesday, 10th of March. (Ow!)
- I am officially hooked on 4D movies, which are only available at Gold Reef City Theme Park! Robots of Mars and Turtle Vision are now showing in 4D.
- Two international superstars are performing at the Coca-Cola Dome this weekend - Kelly Clarkson (Friday, 12th of March) and Cliff Richard (Sunday, 14th of March).
- Some fabulous theatre productions for the kids - Heidi (at Children's Theatre) and The Jungle Book (at the People's Theatre).
- The highly acclaimed Shaolin Monks have just launched their Wheel of Life show at the Teatro at Montecasino - not to be missed!
- The heart-wrenching ballet, Swan Lake, opens at the Mandela Theatre this Friday, 12th of March and runs until 4th of April.
- Outdoorsy people can go orienteering in Pretoria on Sunday morning with kids that are 3 years and older – something different for the family to try.
Also a heads-up for those of you toying with the idea of getting a new car. McCarthy Call-a-Car has some really great specials on their website- I counted TWELVE March specials this morning with a great variety of cars to suit your budget and requirements. I quite like the Audi A5 Sportsback, myself!
Also congratulations to our "Shaolin Monks - Wheel of Life" prize winners: Nalani Madurai, Bob Preston and Zandy Cloete.
As for me, I am heading off to the Shaolin Monks premier, will be trying out one of David Bullard's favourite restaurants in Parkview, and continue with my review of some new slimming treatments at RUB in Bryanston. Sigh - it's going to be a tough week! Be sure to check out our brand new website and very full Events Calendar!
Have an incredible week!
