Where better to go for your anniversary dinner than a stunning eatery tucked away in the bustling heart of Parkmore? That’s exactly what I thought when I took my wife, Barbara, to Thomas Maxwell for our special occasion.
After stepping inside, you’ll completely forget where you are – the ambiance of the place is so romantic and relaxed that you’d never think you’re in one of the busiest areas in town! Barbara and I were warmly welcomed – from the minute we set foot inside, our romantic experience was heightened by the attention we received from the well-trained staff and management and the romantic ambiance was certainly amplified by the stunning rustic décor.
By now you must be wondering what kinds of food we indulged in so I won’t keep you waiting any longer. For starters, I had the tomato tart, which was tomato layered on an apricot mustard crust and roasted with a little bit of grape seed oil, while Barbara went for a delicious double-baked cheese soufflé, which somehow managed to be light and rich at the same time!
Being a rather big fan of meat, when it was time to order our mains, I had to choose the ribeye steak. Let me just say that it took me to meat lover’s heaven! Barbs chose the prawn pasta, which was served with six shelled queen prawns, wilted rocket, basil pesto and topped with parmesan shavings. Are you drooling just reading this? Sorry about that!
To end our meal off on a sweet note, I had the chocolate fondant, while Barbara indulged in the berry panna cotta – this was the perfect end to our delectable meal!
So, it’s certainly safe to say that Thomas Maxwell did not disappoint. It’s a must for any special occasion so keep it in mind when you want to wine and dine that special someone.
