The incredible Greek beauty, Anna Vissi will be visiting South Africa in October to perform one show only at Emperors Palace Hotel Casino and Convention Resort. Vissi has been dubbed the pop queen of Greece and is world renown for her sensational voice and electrifying dance moves. Vissi will perform in the Centre Court on Saturday, 13th of October 2007.
Anna Vissi began her career at the youthful age of six and she has enjoyed a meteoric rise to stardom. Vissi and her family relocated to Greece from Cyprus and it did not take long for her to begin working with reputable producers namely,NicosKarvelas.
Vissi starred in Stavros Sideras’ opera, “Ode to the Gods” in 1996 and released her album Klima Tropiko (Tropical Climate) in the same year, and almost overnight became a sensation in Greece with the album going platinum.
In 1998 Vissi received a Pop Corn Music Award for best female singer, best interpretation, best album, best album cover, best song, most played song on the radio, best live appearance, and longtime collaborator Nicos Karvelas took home the awardforbestcompositionfor“MarvaYalia”.
After this point Vissi took on the European and American markets releasing her first English album, “Everything I am”. Vissi sold 9.5 million albums worldwide and since 1995 it has gone platinum 28 times.
Since then Vissi has toured Greece performing to her devoted fans and now this Greek bombshell comes to the African continent for one show only. Doors open at 19h30 and the show starts at 20h30. Tickets are R1500 per person – one ticket price only, this price includes a sit down dinner.
