Melville is a foodie hotspot that caters to an extremely broad audience. One of the food shops here who specialise in local, lekker gourmet food would be the Gourmet Deli. Home made fudge, Turkish Delight with rose water and everything in between – it’s all under one roof at the Gourmet Deli.
The best thing about Kosher food would be the bagels. How good does a cream cheese and lox (cured salmon) bagel sound right about now? Brilliant. Make sure to pay a visit to Alexander’s Delicatessen in Norwood.
One of the hardest foods to find is a decent platter. Luckily, Deli Express in Linden have us covered on that front. A favourite would be the Filled Cocktail Roll Platter which contains BBQ chicken in mini poppy seed roll; pastrami and tomato in cocktail Italian rolls and lemon and herb chicken in mini white sesame rolls to name a few.
Feel like a nice little panini with a mouth watering view? The Westcliff Deli is all about gourmet food on the go, is located streetside and provides an enticing variety of snacks and beverages.
The words Kosher and deli go together like pastrami on rye… with a dash of mustard and mozzarella, of course. The Deli Store in Sandton specialises in everything from seared fish to open sandwiches and wraps.
