Best VOIP Applications

The internet has liberated many of life’s hardships, and one of those would be the price tag that goes along with distance phone calls. If you’re new to Voice Over the Internet Calling (VOIP) it’s all good. We’ve put together a list of awesome apps that will assist you.

Kakao Talk

Over 170 million people use Kakoa Talk to keep in touch with friends, family and acquaintances. The application, which was started in 2010 has already taken South Korea by storm where 93% of the population uses Kakao Talk.

One of the first VOIP providers out there was Skype. Its signature Skype call ring has become a regular sound to many of us. Reach out to family and friends worldwide, plus with super low rates and no peak times you really can call home the moment you start to miss it.

Viber for Desktop lets you send free messages as well as make free calls to other Viber users, on any device and network, in any country! The best thing about this app is that no registration is required and all you have to do is download, install and get chatting.

It’s all in the name. Rebtel’s motto is highjacking real phone lines to liberate international calling. Here’s the best part: you can make internet-free calls all over the world and never worry about bad reception or dropped calls.

Talkatone is the best option for replacing your native phone to call and SMS for free without using cell minutes. By contrast, Skype, Viber and Facetime are only free if the recipient has also already installed the app. If you have an iPhone consider installing Talkatone which will save you on talk time expenses.
