The Stables Village Market Christmas Weekends

Not only will The Stables Village Market be hosting a wonderful festive playground perfect for all your Christmas shopping, but they will also be hosting carols by candlelight to get you into the spirit of the festive season. The Christmas Weekends take place from 01 – 03 December and again from 08 – 10 December. Fridays are dedicated to the Moonlight Markets, Sundays bring the Christmas market, and in between on Saturday evening, there will be carols by candlelight from 17:00.
The Linden Market Xmas Edition

Before the Christmas frenzy begins, visit The Linden Market’s #MarketInThePark X-mas Edition to get started on your shopping. From a beautiful Christmas tree and carols to loads of splendid gifts and special family time, the Emmarentia Botanical Gardens will come to life with all things jolly. And to celebrate the festive season, they’ll have a special lineup of Christmas carols, a talented group of singers from the UJ Choir – Voices Plus, the Awesome4some band, Nick May Band and Die Rooibos. 67 Blankets for Mandela will be knitting and selling Christmas tree decorations, so get your very own unique Christmas decorations while supporting a great cause. There will also be #Yogainthepark at 09:00, where you can enjoy the early morning summer air. Gates open at 9:00. Entrance is R20 per person and kids under 12 get in for free.
Jacaranda FM and SPAR Carols by Candlelight

The Jacaranda FM SPAR Carols by Candlelight is spreading festive joy in Johannesburg and Pretoria with their “Give A Toy, Share The Joy!”. This year, they will be hosting the beautiful event in a new venue in Johannesburg – St Stithians College. Join them for a bit of festive fun. All you need to do is take a toy along with you which will be delivered to chosen charities straight after the event. There will also be joyful carols by candlelight. Expect to see local artists such as Lloyd Cele, Louise Carver, Ross fromPrime Circle, Danny K, Majozi, Kelly Khumalo and the Mzansi Youth Choir on the day. Entry is FREE, just bring a toy. Proceeds will go to the following charities: Abraham Kriel Kinderhuis, Hugh’s Haven, Child Welfare: Midrand, Child Welfare: Tshwane and Hanna Charity. Candles (R30) and songbooks (R10) will be on sale at the venue on the day. Or get both for R35.
Christmas Carols in the Garden at Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens

Why not enjoy a day out and about at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens? Not only to do some hiking, exploring and eagle watching but to also do some festive gift hunting and sing a few of your favourite Christmas carols to get your into the merry spirit that this time of the year brings. Throughout the afternoon, there will be a lovely Christmas market perfect for some Christmas shopping, and by evening there will be festive carols by candlelight from 17:00. There’s nothing more cheerful and festive than the sound of carols filling the air. And as if that wasn’t enough Christmas cheer, there will be a Christmas market as well as a special visit from Santa Claus for the kids. Make sure you take a picnic basket, blankets and your loved ones along with you. It’s going to be a lovely evening out and about in the city. And to spread the joy and love this season exudes, take a small gift for your child and another one to donate to their chosen charity to make this time of year a little more special for someone less fortunate.
