Winnie the Pooh joins the Party at The Palace!
A spectacular highlight of the Emperors Palace Hotel Casino Convention Resort’s 10th Birthday Celebrations is a dazzling musical production starring the world’s most beloved bear, Winnie the Pooh, by children’s theatre specialists, Peoples Theatre.
AA Milne’s Winnie the Pooh first appeared in book-form in 1926, and the delightful adventures of Pooh, Christopher Robin, Piglet, Owl, Tigger, Kango, Roo and Eeyore in the Hundred Acre Wood have been entertaining young and old ever since!
The Peoples Theatre production is a dynamic interactive experience aimed at introducing children to the world of live theatre, with an exquisite story-book set by Marius Boshoff and fabulous costumes by Linda Wilson. The cast of professional actors ensure an unforgettable experience as Pooh and his friends take part in expeditions, muse about honey and birthdays, tell jokes and sing songs.
Although he is a “bear of little brain”, Winnie the Pooh has an indefinable wisdom and his friends, their happiness and feelings are his chief concern. Hence the tales told in the music and lyrics of this delightful production strike a chord with simply everyone.
Jill Girard and Keith Smith of Peoples Theatre have been producing top quality children’s entertainment for over 12 years and believe strongly in the principle of a “story coming to life on stage”. “We want the theatre experience to be an education in itself”, says Jill, “and we are determined to offer consistently superior productions to entrench a love of theatre from a young age.”
Previous Peoples Theatre productions have proved immensely popular at Emperors Palace, including “Jungle Book” and “Red Riding Hood and other Stories”.
