From start to finish, Infusion Catering took care of everything – from sending through menu options to choose from and advising on any allergies and dietary requirements, to setting up and clearing everything away once the party had come to an end! Basically, all we had to do was head over to the boardroom, grab a seat at the table, tuck in and enjoy ourselves. Everything was so beautifully presented, it all looked and smelt absolutely amazing, and it was pretty obvious that everyone was excited about the assortment of tasty foods we had before us. Each birthday celebration offered something different and interesting for us to munch on, and needless to say, both ‘meetings’ and menu sets were an absolute hit with the team!
First up for the August celebrations was Byron’s birthday. Our boardroom table was adorned with tasty and tempting breakfast delights, offering mini fruit skewers with a drizzle of vanilla syrup, a continental cold meat and cheese platter with a variety of preserves, 100 % rye and home-made seed loaf to accompany freshly baked croissants filled with scrambled eggs and wilted spinach, butternut and caramelised onion quiches, crispy chicken sausage rolls, mini chive blinis topped with cream cheese and smoked salmon garnished with little sprigs of dill. And to round it all off on a sweet note (and sugar rush!), a decadent and delicious chocolate cake layered with chocolate mousse and smothered in dark chocolate ganache! Everyone enjoyed every bite from the breakfast buffet, and it was definitely the ideal way to start off our morning and celebrate Byron’s special day. Once we had our fill, there was barely anything left!
A week later, Shelli and Michael’s birthday celebrations followed and Infusion Catering prepared and set up a stunning lunch spread which was an absolute treat! The lunch menu Crystal selected offered Thai cuisine, which included assorted cocktail rolls and home-made seed loaf served with butterballs, herb crusted salmon with cheromoula and served with lemon butter sauce and char-grilled limes, Thai Chicken Curry topped with toasted chopped cashews and fresh coriander, egg noodles cooked in a lemongrass and ginger broth laced with coriander, stir fried Asian vegetables, platters of freshly sliced fruit drizzled with a granadilla coulis and garnished with fresh mint and edible flowers, and lemon grass infused Crème Brulee topped with lavender shortbread hearts for dessert. And lastly, no birthday celebration is complete without a birthday cake! – the cake was absolutely darling, with rainbow layered sponge covered in white fondant, and decorated with colourful dolka dots. The Thai Chicken Curry mixed with the egg noodles was absolutely divine; most of us couldn’t help but go back for seconds (and even thirds!) And best of all, there was so much left over that we happily repeated the experience all over again the next day!
The Joburg.co.za team loved absolutely everything about Infusion Catering, from the lovely layout to (obviously) the delicious food. Check out what everyone had to say!
Crystal: “I was blown away by both of the shindigs Infusion Catering threw for us! The breakfast for Byron’s birthday was absolutely divine and I loved the delicious croissants, healthy fruit skewers and breakfast quiches. Shelli and Mike’s birthday lunch was also incredible and the buffet they served us was super yummy. I loved the Thai Curry the most and was so excited that we had left overs for the next day!”
Byron: “Although I love hanging out and celebrating birthdays at the office I have to be honest and admit that I’m not a huge cake fan. I’ve always been more of a savoury person so it goes without saying that I was happy to see the spread Infusion Catering brought through for our last two parties. We celebrated the one birthday at breakfast time so they brought amazingly presented breakfast croissants as well as salmon on crackers with cream cheese and a whole plate of meats and cheeses. Not only was it all delicious but it looked fit for a king! The second birthday we celebrated was at lunch, so for this occasion they brought three hot meals, cake and so many treats and fruit that I couldn’t even try them all. I was more than satisfied to say the least and now I’m just looking forward to the next birthday! I’d highly recommend Infusion Catering for any office catering needs because not only do they bring you the tastiest treats but also because they endeavour to make everything look so good as well as offering gluten free options.”
Thuli: “Infusion Catering turned our boardroom table into a feast waiting for kings. Their food was absolutely delicious with a creative variety on offer. We were spoilt for choice with stuffed croissants, cheeses, cold meat, muffins, fruit and much more for Byron’s birthday breakfast. Mike and Shelli also had birthdays a week later and luckily for us the awesome Infusion Caterers brought in a hearty lunch this time with Thai curry, pasta and my utmost favourite, salmon. They have definitely taken our office dos up a notch! “
Fallyn: “My favourite thing about birthday celebrations is hands down, the food. Infusion Catering is the real deal, the presentation is extravagant, yet the food so simple and delicious. On top of that is the amazing resource for Gluten Free treats, which is not easily accessible. The best part was getting to spend time with the Velocity Media Team as we overindulged in a mouth-watering fantasy of heaven!”
Kim: “I am a huge savoury fan, and all I can say is that Infusion Catering really took our birthday get-togethers to the next level with the assortment of delights they offered at each party! The croissants and quiches at Byron’s birthday breakfast were by far the best I have ever had! And, the Thai Chicken Curry at Shelli and Michael’s lunch was wonderful and full of flavour! I’m definitely looking forward to another birthday just to try out the other menu options they have to offer!”
Michael: “Really enjoyed the buffet that Infusion prepared for my birthday, particularly the green Thai curry with noodles. It was so tasty, that I basically filled up on that, leaving virtually no space for anything else. I did heroically manage to squeeze in one of their fruity crème brulees, rounding off a fantastic birthday meal.”
Lee-Ann: “It’s not very often that we are able to enjoy a full spread at the office, but Infusion Catering really pulled out all the stops for us! Not only did they provide a wide variety of snacks, their presentation was even more exciting than the actual food. For lunch, they came prepared with spare microwaves and heating equipment to ensure that our food would be kept warm until we were done working and ready to tuck in. I really appreciate that they turned our office into a suitable dining place.”
Shelli NT: “I was immediately struck by the sense of abundance – the table was GROANING under the weight of all that food. And it was impossible to know what to choose, so I tried everything. Yes, it’s true – I ate myself into an absolute coma, but what a way to celebrate a birthday! The Thai Curry was sublime with just enough heat to make it flavorful but not enough to make tasting anything after that impossible. And the desserts – oh, I could write poetry about those desserts. Hands down my favourite caterers at the moment!”
