I always have a tough time choosing what to eat here. As soon as I think I’ve made my mind up, something else jumps out at me from the menu and makes me doubt my choice. The best thing about this place? Not only is everything drool-worthy, it’s good for you too!
This cosy establishment has been around for quite some time and is a frequent haunt of vegans and meat-eaters alike – their food is that good. I mean, how could you say no to their offerings? Such love and care is put into their food. And the creativity? Crazy!
Take their Full English for example – it’s made with scrambled tofu, vegan bacon, avo, Mexican beans, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, wilted greens, carrots, beets, toast and jam, and I can personally vouch for its deliciousness. Or how about their Pizza Yogi – I know what you’re thinking, what’s a pizza without cheese, right? I thought the same thing until I sank my teeth into their homemade sourdough base, topped with artichokes, avo, olives, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, oregano and fresh basil. Plus, you don’t get that sluggish feeling afterwards – you know the one that’s usually followed by eating a whole pizza? Nope. There’ll be none of that here.
Other winners (there are way too many to mention, really) include the Maple Cheese Cake, which is completely raw (made with nuts), their Brilliant Bar, made with peanuts, chocolate, goji berries, cranberries, raisins, maca, hemp, chia seed, flax seed, cacao, agave, oat bran, corn and popped rice and their Superfood Bomb smoothie, which is made with almond, cashew, date, maca, hemp, cacao, coconut oil and rice or soya milk. Are you sold yet?
Plus, if you like what you eat at Greenside Café, be sure to pop on over to their neighbouring store, where you can take home everything from recipe books and dry ingredients to raw mousse and the most heavenly chickpea fudge you ever will eat – Greenside Café treats at home? Yes, please.
