Gold Reef City Theme Park’s tribal dancers are ready to stun football fans from around the world with their mastery of the latest South African craze, the Diski Dance.
The Diski Dance is the newest community sensation – a soccer-based set of dancing moves that imitates the rhythm of African football. Football supporters who will be visiting Gold Reef City Theme Park during the South African 2010 FIFA World Cup will be left in awe when they see the Theme Park dancers’ display Diski moves and clearly demonstrates our excitement and patriotism.
The dance takes its inspiration from Diski Football – a unique and flamboyant football style that is as African as vuvuzelas. The Diski Dance campaign – a collaboration between the International Marketing Council, SA Tourism and the 2010 Organising Committee was developed to ignite the nation behind the 2010 FIFA World Cup and South Africa’s status as the first African host nation.
It was started by a little boy, spread to other settings and spilled out onto the streets of Johannesburg before ending on a football pitch in South African Tourism’s TV advert.
This great dance will inspire visitors to the Theme Park with the energy and passion of football. They’ll want to race off to cheer for their teams, wave their national colours and celebrate with thousands and thousands of other football fans.

Entertainment includes acrobats, musicians, clowns, Mongolian contortionists and much more. The soccer craze that has swept over the entire country will reach new heights, with an amazing Soccer Aerial Globe Act, whilst young and old will be astounded by the skills and dexterity of the Bafana Soccer Juggler.
