Over forty of South Africas top musical legends from the past 30 years will gather at this years Hansa Festival of Legends to participate in a ten-hour smoking-hot celebration of live musical excellence.
From 2pm until midnight on Saturday March 23, Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown will be pumping to the sounds of hip hop, kwaito, afro pop, soul and jazz, R&B, and house beats to name but a few. Hosted by Highveld Stereos Anele Mdoda and Kaya FMsBob Mabena, the musical mix will include singers, musicians, bands and well-known DJs spinning the coolest tunes.
Partygoers can get into the groove with their favourite local legends as they perform on three specially erected stages, participate in a street parade or catch their breath as they chill at musically themed lounges.
Just as Hansa Pilsener is a beer with a special ingredient, so each musician selected for the Festival has his or her own special ingredient that makes them extraordinary and keeps fans coming back, time after time.
The special lounges will be themed around artists from the Sophiatown era, as well as other kwaito and hip-hop artists.
Tickets to the Festival cost R150 and can be bought at www.computicket.co.za
