Clean Cutting Boards
Toss an ample amount of kosher salt on your cutting board and scrub it in with half a lemon. Yes, it is that simple… and, if you have some tequila at hand you could do shots!
Mix hydrogen peroxide and baking soda into a paste. Apply to a toothbrush and scrub the grout clean. This will bust mildew square in the jaw. Just be sure to wear gloves and work in a well ventilated area. We warned you.
By mixing vegetable oil and baking soda you can create a paste which may be used to scrub the grime off of kitchen cupboards. Once done, buff it all out with some kitchen towels. Shiny, isn’t it?
Soak a non-abrasive sponge in ammonia and use it to restore porcelain to its original glory. Another trick would be to soak a non-abrasive sponge in vodka, yes, vodka, and use it to buff your ceramics with. Make sure you have enough vodka left to make cosmopolitans. Clean porcelain should be celebrated, you know.
Cleaning Brass and Copper
Here’s a nifty little trick. Go dig through your fridge for that big bottle of tomato sauce you don’t use because “it’s not All Gold”. Place your pennies, jewellery or ornaments in a bowl or any other container and cover it all with tomato sauce. Leave the mess for about 15 minutes and rinse. Buff it all with some Brasso afterwards to really make it pop.
