No need to book a flight to Hawaii, as Hawaii will be making its way to Soweto for the ultimate extravaganza! This event will have you enjoying the tropical ambience where the theme is Hawaii with a dash of Soweto to make your Heritage weekend one you will remember.
What is it?
The biggest Soweto beach experience is a three day extravaganza which will be celebrating Heritage Day and Braai Day all in one epic festivity at the historical Walter Sisulu Square.
SOWAII is all about spending some quality time with family and friends. Just picture yourself and your posse sitting on a beach chair under the golden rays of the sun, protected by the cool shade of palm trees. In the background, there will be a soundtrack of smooth tropical sounds playing as you enjoy the sensation of sand between your toes. Conventional drinking glasses make way for coconuts and pineapples as you sip away on tropical cocktails. And, to add a dash of our South African heritage, there’s a familiar smell in the air – the aromatic smell of chisa nyama with 3000 patrons braaing at the same time!
There is something for everyone at this amazing event, from an electrifying lineup of international and South African artists including Ralf Gum, Heavy K, DJ Zan-D, DJ Dimplez, Major League DJs, Black Motion and many more. There will also be water slides, a beer garden, Vokandi cocktail bars & Tipo Tinto Rum aperitifs for those sweet indulgences, food and clothing stalls. And that’s not all! You could stand a chance to win a share of cash prizes worth a whopping R100,000! The whole venue will be your beach playground, with hot bikinis and mini-skirts, shorts and floral shirts, the ultimate Soweto lifestyle event.
