Capital Craft

Greenlyn Village Centre, SHOP NO. 20 Cnr Thomas Edison & 12TH Street East, Pretoria

Craft beer is booming and the coolest place to get your buzz on with custom made suds is at Capital Craft. Head to this fine establishment in Menlo Park for something lekker to eat and something even lekkerder to drink. Their wide variety of beers on tap would have any beer lover coming back for more. You can expect the usual local suspects and other lesser known brews.

Park Acoustics

Eeufees Rd, Pretoria,

Every first Sunday of the month, thousands of music lovers head to the Voortrekker Monument to enjoy good tunes. Park Acoustics is a monthly music event which is garnished with good food, good beer and good people. You can see some of the biggest local and international acts on the lawns with your choms. Don’t forget to bring your beard… and sunscreen.

Ginger & Fig

Shop No 5, Brooklyn Centre, 751 Jan Shoba Street, Brooklyn, Pretoria,

Classic and cool, comfortable and casual. Those are the words that come to mind when describing the most hipster eatery in the whole of Pretoria. Ginger & Fig in Brooklyn serves some of the best burgers, brunches and coffees we’ve come across in a while. Be sure to snap a couple of photos of the café for Instagram.

Aroma Gourmet Coffee Roastery

4, Florents Heights, 255 Lynnwood Rd & Pienaar Street, Pretoria

No hipster hang out article will be complete without at least one grand coffee shop. Meet Aroma Gourmet Coffee Roastery in Brooklyn – our favourite place to crunch out some work with a good, strong cuppa.  Also, their dark hot chocolate is to die for. Aroma Gourmet Coffee Roastery also sells gourmet sandwiches that  go well with the in-house roasted coffee.

Lucky Rodrigo

c/o The Hillside Street and Alpine Way, Pretoria

Live music, burgers and seafood – that’s what Lucky Rodrigo is all about. This Williamsburg-style (think Peaky Blinders mixed with a couple of shots of tequila) restaurant, bar and live music venue is the best place to check out that band no one has ever heard of before. The food’s good, the beer cold and the music loud.
