The Best of Rocktober – Roxy’s Top Three

Join some of South Africa’s top DJs and sensational dance music acts at the Alexander Theatre this coming weekend. There’ll be two floors of hecticity!

Venue: The Alexander Theatre, 36 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein

It would seem the Alexander Theatre is definitely the venue of choice for this month’s musical festivities. Rockford Media, in association with SA VIP Limo and Music Connection are responsible for bringing together some of South Africa’s radio and alternative favourites. With a line up that includes Fokofpolisiekar, Zebra & Giraffe, New Academics, The Death Valley Blues Band and Dead Alphabet – it’d be no surprise if these guys burned a hole through the stage with their collective, sure-to-be energetic and stellar performances! This rock-fuelled evening will also be accompanied by Rockford DJs – Steve, Mark and DJ Sin turning some tables and 5fm’s lovely Koula as MC for the whole show. The Big City Bash also promises party-goers some amazing drink specials – hopefully you won’t lose out on a round of rock-paper-scissors for ‘Designated Dave’ duty for this one!

Date:Friday, 23rd October 2009
Venue: The Alexander Theatre, 36 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein
Cost: Rre-sale tickets for R115 at or pay R130 at the door.
