Join Emperors Palace In Making A Difference This Mandela Day

Mandela Day is coming up, and if you haven’t thought about what you are going to do to make a difference in our country, then why volunteer to help the Epic Foundation?

The Epic Foundation manages various projects and initiatives that are aimed at assisting victims of rape and abuse. This Mandela Day, they are asking the community to help them package comfort packs to make a difference in the life of a rape survivor.

What is it?

The Epic Foundation and volunteers will be packing comfort packs for rape victims which are issued during the initial reporting phases at police stations and hospitals. To anyone, these comfort packs might just seem like an ordinary bag of toiletries, but for a survivor at their lowest point where they feel at their most vulnerable, receiving a bag with comfort items has a huge impact in the healing process.

Get your staff involved with the project on your company premises on the day if you wish to partake in this worthy initiative. Get in touch with Epic Foundation and they will forward details to you to help get the project started and guidance on how to arrange the packing.

If you cannot join Epic Foundation on the day, they will gladly accept donations and contributions to the project. Make a difference by donating any of the following items they need in order to create these comfort packs for their many projects to support women, men and children:

Body lotion, bottled water, brown paper bags, chips/snacks, colouring-in books, colouring-in crayons/pencils, cool drink, deodorant, face clothes, hair comb/brushes, hair elastics and clips, lip balm, pen/pencil, plasters, sanitary towels, shampoo, small notebooks, soap, soft toys, surgical gloves, sweets, tissues, toothbrushes, toothpaste, underwear for women, men and children, vaseline, wet wipes.

When is it?

Saturday, 18 July 2015 from 09:30 to 15:00.

Where is it?

The Epic Foundation office, Unit D10, Supreme Industrial Park, corner Heidelberg Road and southern Klipriviers Road, Steeledale.
