A dream Bushveld wedding and reception only 45 km north of Pretoria.

A picture perfect wedding… A church of stone and thatch between Tamboti trees and stunning gardens… Or find yourself exchanging vows under an African weeping wattle surrounded by undulating grass plains… Be enchanted by the running water of the river and commit to one another in a natural rock amphitheatre on the banks of the Moretele river…

Wine and dine your guests around a campfire in the Elephant boma, or enjoy true South African hospitality and cuisine in a Thatched restaurant. Join Kwalata Game Ranch and experience a dream wedding with spectacular sunsets and toast a new beginning in the heart of the Bushveld.

Kwalata Game Ranch derives its name from the endangered and proud Sable Antelope.
Covering an area of 1500 HA, only 45 km north of Pretoria, Kwalata is home to more than 14 species of game. Kudu, zebra, giraffe, blue wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, steenbok, ostrich and warthog are just some of the animals roaming the African savannah. Four kilometres of the Pienaars River sustains a colourful abundance of bird life in this malaria free area. The protected Tamboti tree also enjoys prominence at Kwalata Game Ranch as Main Camp is built amongst a number of these beautiful trees.

Only an hour’s drive from Johannesburg International Airport, the African Bushveld begins here!

From its humble beginnings around a black pot under starry skies, Kwalata has sprawled into a leading conference and function venue. It boasts a beautiful and quite unique wedding chapel in the midst of a Tamboti forest, adjoining a boma and catering facilities for 300 guests.

Four conference centres allow companies a productive workshop in the bushveld. Guests can overnight in comfortable accommodation.

Whether it’s a campfire in the bushveld, a herd of blue wildebeest trekking through the bush, crossing a river on a 80m high rope, Sangomas throwing the bones, gum boot dancing, walking trails through the African bush, a crimson breasted shrike announcing daybreak, braaied chickens in a Mozambican tavern dished up with pumping kwaito music, an unforgettable Kwalata experience.

Rated as one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Gauteng. A unique stone church with thatched roof provides a special place for the wedding ceremony. The chapel can accommodate 300 guests and competes with the most beautiful in South Africa. Lovely gardens around the church make it ideal for photo shoots. A game drive in the bushveld allows for that once in a lifetime photo!

In the midst of grass plains, a picturesque bushveldt tree awaits guests. Pulpit, chairs, and decor makes for a complete, picture perfect wedding. Juice on arrival, sound system, pulpit, sundowner drinks and snacks are but a view options available. Gamedrive vehicles shuttle guests to a natural amphitheatre on the banks of the Moretele river. In the midst of running waters, vows are exchanged. Cushioned seating for 200 people.
