Right on the edge of Edenvale is the most amazing little coffee shop – La Tazzina. It’s the perfect place to go and enjoy a delicious cappuccino while catching up with a friend.
For owner, Cristina Abela, it all started with a passion for food that escalated into something absolutely amazing. Cristina, a young entrepreneur that grew up in the area, started out making pastries and cakes from her home after qualifying as a pastry chef and from this her passion and love for food perfection grew. She came across an empty house that seemed to call to her and soon she had used her flair for decorating and creating food masterpieces and opened what is now La Tazzina.
One of my favourite things about the little coffee shop on the corner of 1st Avenue and Amelia Street, is that it has a romantic rustic feel to it with pastel colours, birdcages and amazing little finds decorating the windows. The vintage décor and the beautiful garden both create an atmosphere of relaxation and seclusion, a little bit of peace in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The food is equally, if not more, amazing with mouth-watering flavours that are uniquely La Tazzinian. I wanted to sample all of their delicious flavours of milkshakes served in Consol glass jars: from your usual strawberry and vanilla to nougat, Belgian brownie and Nutella and none of it is artificial! Plus, with their wonderful variety of choices and tastes, the spot is the perfect place for a relaxed weekend breakfast with family or friends. Delicious gourmet paninis, pastas and salads make it very hard to choose and I will definitely go back to try each and every dish. For dessert they have scrumptious pastries and macaroons that melt away in your mouth. I also love that they make everything themselves, even their muesli and lemonade, and yet still manage to make a meal very affordable!
If you’ve got furry friends or little ones then you will also be excited to hear that La Tazzina is a family and pet friendly spot! It is a truly refreshing experience and I can’t wait for you to discover it as well!
Visit them on Facebook to view some of their marvellous cake creations and catch up on their latest news.
