RIVERSIDE RETREAT

This charming old farmhouse, built in 1852, has a strong Provençal ambiance with sash windows, wooden shutters, courtyards and lofty ceilings.The main house has been meticulously restored; each comfortably large bedroom having its own sitting area, log fireplace and huge beautiful old bathroom.

The original well and Dutch oven are still in use, as is the old barn (with wooden doors big enough for a horse and hay cart to pass through) and stables which have been made as comfortable as the main house and also furnished with English and French antiques plus our own crafted furniture of iron, wood and rattan.

THE NGUNI & BONSMARA SUITES

Two bedrooms (one queensize, one double) each having a fireplace, sitting area and large ensuite bathroom with Greek shower.

THE BANDULA SUITE

Entrance hall with built-in cupboard, vast bedroom featuring mahogany French antique queensize bed. Large living room / library with period fireplace. Well proportioned period bathroom, black and white tiled floor with private outdoor luxury shower. Spacious verandah affording great views.

THE STABLES SUITES (PERCHERON & GODOLPHIN)

Two ensuite suites, both kingsize (twin beds) with walk-in dressing room, fireplace, sitting area, own verandah and wonderful views.

The 25m by 20m barn is elegantly furnished for dining, relaxing and reading having two enormous fireplaces plus eight overhead fans.

The spacious verandah on the west bank is perfect for alfresco dining, sunsets, mountain views and birding (over 300 bird species identified).

The north facing main entrance and reception has a lakeside cabana for coffee, cake, smoothies, chilled glass of wine, etc.

The estate also boasts an indigenous bulb nursery specialising in clivia and a specialist lime orchard.

The pièce de résistance our river retreat, is idyllic for fine dining or taking a dip in the hippo pool.

Golfers are especially welcome due to the proximity to excellent courses!
