Jozi’s Winter Circus kicked off with a bang on Thursday, 25th of June at Gold Reef City Theme Park. This all-new, not-to-be-missed show with amazing acts runs for a limited period of three weeks only. You have until Sunday, 19th of July to catch what promises to be one of the most amazing shows in Jozi.
The Circus caters for the whole family, from toddlers to grandparents. The amazing line-up brings with it many fresh and exciting performances, including acrobats, musicians, clowns, contortionists and so much more.
The show opens in grand style with a performance of Christina Aguilera’s song: “Welcome to the greatest show on earth” while the performers are introduced to the audience.
Gareth Lush, the famous ventriloquist, and his special guest, Bobby Baboon, are the ringmasters for this year’s circus. Between the stunts, antics and comedy of the other performers, the duo will keep the crowd amused with their comic banter.
The radical magic of Vicus – the mysterious magician with his magic doves, bottles and canes – will entrance the audience with awesome feats of magic and illusion. For a change of pace, audiences will be wowed by a breathtaking silk and Spanish web aerial act featuring Samantha Kotze, backed with vocals from Yvette.
An unusual power act featuring two strong men dressed as ballerinas will leave the audience in stitches and in awe of the physical feats of power on display. Also, look out for Nicolas, the juggler and Lunga Buthelezi, the internationally renowned contortionist who is also known as “The Snake” because of her snake-like movements. Jozi, everybody’s favourite clown entertains the crowds with a comical musical performance.
Jozi’s Winter Circus is not the only reason to rush down to Gold Reef City Theme Park this holiday season. There is a selection of adventure rides like the Giant Wheel, Anaconda or Tower of Terror, Africa’s only 4D cinema and a choice of eateries that caters to every taste.
In addition, enjoy a wide range of street entertainment (gumboot dancing, daily street parade and musicians), magic shows, many fascinating historical attractions that form part of the ‘Jozi’s Story Of Gold’ heritage tour and so much more. There truly is something for everyone to enjoy at Gold Reef City Theme Park this winter!
