It’s just 55 km away from the hustle and bustle of Sandton, and 60 km away from Pretoria, yet it offers guests a sublime feel of a serene country atmosphere. Leopard Lodge is an exclusive, private function venue on a 248Ha game farm situated in the protected natural environment area of the Magaliesburg Mountain in the Hartbeespoort Dam area near to Kosmos.

The farm abounds with bird life including the 3rd largest breeding colony of the endangered Cape Griffon Vulture. Resident game includes giraffe, kudu, blesbuck, impala, blue wildebeest, red hartebeest and zebra. Leopards are very shy and scarce but have been seen occasionally, mainly at night. Excellent cuisine is served in the restaurant and the Ingwe bar is fully licensed. A large lunchtime buffet meal is available every Sunday and for that special occasion bookings can be made for a delicious traditional African meal in the Boma.

There’s much more to do at the lodge… Game drives in an open game viewing vehicle and educational bush walks with a fully qualified field guide and tracker are available to visitors. Two swimming pools are available to cool you down after a day in the sun. A bush boma has been created where small groups can enjoy a private braai under the trees in true South African style. The day can be ended with a sundowner at our Shonalanga bird watching deck, at the Motswedi water hole or in Ingwe our warm African style pub. Excellent lunches and dinners are served in the restuarant or on the large open veranda overlooking Hartbeespoort Dam.

And if you’re into golf – you can enjoy a game at any one of 4 nearby courses, including the famous Pecanwood and Magalies Park courses. The adventurous can take a flight in Bill Harrop’s Balloon Safaris or take an exiting trip on a large catamaran sailing yaght with Topcat Charters. Nature lovers may visit the Elephant Sanctuary, the Cheetah Rehabilitation Centre, Osrti-San the ostridge and Bushman village or Ingwe the crocodile farm. Other visitors may enjoy a visit to the nearby Lesedi Cultural Village or even a trip to Sun City and the Lost Palace only 100Km away. Shorter trips may include a visit to the Van Gaalen cheese farm, the Transvaal snake park, and the nearby African curio stalls.
