Must Have PC Cases

When it comes to buying a case for your next PC build it’s best to make sure you have some smash with your flash. It’s not all about looks in this game, baby. Have a look at our favourite PC cases…

Mecer GR One

This mammoth of a case is made from steel and plastic. The front end is fitted with two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports as well as headphone and microphone jacks. Removing the front besel reveals two pre installed 140mm fans. This case has been built like a tank with the air conditioning capability of a convertible super car driving 220 km/h with the top down.

Corsair Obsidian 450D

For the 450D Corsair has shaken up the look for their more conventional mid-range cases and smacked three 140mm fans on the inside for added measure. The front end is fitted with two USB 3.0 ports as well as the usual mic and earphone outputs. It ships with seven PCI slots and two spring-loaded SSD trays mounted to the side wall. Not too bad considering the case’s size.

BitFenix Neos

Simple sleek design and one of the best in its price range. The Noes comes with one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 ports on the front end accompanied by the usual vox and audio inputs. Bitfenix has designed this case to minimise the use of screws to fasten down drives and other components usually installed in trays. This is by far one of our favourite value-for-money picks.

Cooler Master Mastercase 5

The 5 series from leading PC component manufacturer Cooler Master is the first tower line-up to ship with two easy to install slip-and-clip solid-state drive pockets. The case comes with two pre-installed fans and can be modified to fit most parts from other manufacturers. The case has been designed to be modified to fit the user’s needs.
