Songbird Nianell to perform at The Lyric Theatre
The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino will be hosting local star Nianell for a once-off performance on Saturday, 25th of July 2009.
South Africans know her as the `Voice of an Angel’ because of her 4 octave vocal range and her ability to easily slip into any style from Pop to Country, Folk, R&B, Classic and even Celtic.
Nianell looks and sounds like a world class star, the Namibian born singer/songwriter has already bagged two South African Music Awards, four platinum selling albums and one gold selling DVD award. Music lovers can look forward to a combination of English and Afrikaans songs at this special concert. The angelic-voiced Nianell will be performing songs from her smash hit albums, Who painted the moon?, Angel Tongue and Life’s Gift as well as a selection of tracks from her latest album I Know I’m lucky.
Warming up the stage for Nianell’s performance will be Melanie Lowe, second runner up from the first season of Idols in South Africa. Melanie’s debut album Yesterday’s Diary sold over 12 500 units and she has won two SAMAs.

Colourful Bollywood returns to The Lyric
The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino is bringing the colourful Bollywood extravaganza, Bollywood Live At The Lyric, back to Jozi for two performances only on Saturday, 1st of August 2009.
Back by overwhelming popular demand, this locally produced show is a spicy concoction of singers, dancers, vibrant costumes and songs ranging from golden oldies to current Bollywood and Indian hits. Bollywood Live at The Lyric brings all the magic of India to Jozi in a show that is bursting with all the colour and music of a Bollywood production. The extravaganza covers 80 minutes of epic performances and features some of the best performance talent South Africa has to offer.
Expect to see a masala-like mix of song and dance, romance, comedy and dare-devil thrills, in a show that combines all the ingredients of a Bollywood movie. It’s a perfect evening out for Bollywood fans and anyone else who loves high energy dance or musical theatre.
