The first season of Ayanda: Inside Fashion filmed at Linden School of Fashion (LISOF) was a huge success. It explored potential careers in the competitive fashion industry. And now the second season promises to be even bigger by exploring more in-depth fashion themes. Aspects such as design and illustration, textiles and fabrics, eco fashion, buying and trend forecasting are some of the topics viewers will be exposed to. Ayanda will go in search of style secrets, learning first-hand the inner workings of some of South Africa’s top fashion houses and sharing that with the viewers.
Drawing inspiration from eminent designers such as Gert Johan Coetzee, the designs on display were all inspired by Ayanda’s Zulu culture – showcasing Zulu headpieces, tyre-material shoes, as well as cute feathers as accessories which were all handmade. Orange was the theme of these designs, corroborating the launch of the new orange Range Rover Evoque convertible coming out soon. In essence, Ayanda aims to educate fashionistas in the rise about the know-hows of fashion.
