The Country’s finest comedians will take to the stage at the Real Heavyweight Comedy Jam on Friday, 29th of May at Emperors Palace Casino, proudly brought to you by 94.7 Highveld Stereo.
Audiences are in for a powerful KNOCKOUT performance at this year’s MASSIVE comedy event taking place at the Centre Court of Emperors Palace. The Heavyweight Comedy Jam has hosted a number of successful and riotous comedy brawls for over five years now, capturing a growing audience of comedy fans throughout the country.
The impressive line up includes, 94.7 Highved Stereo’s very own Darren Whackhead Simpson who will wreak even greater havoc on stage than he does as a regular part of the Rude Awakening Breakfast Show. Funny man Chris Forrest will take to the stage with his witty, thought-provoking and cynical one-line humour. Joining them will be popular comics Joey Rasdien, Al Prodgers and Tumi Morake. Tumi’s brand of comedy has been described as ‘in your face’ and ‘slightly provocative’. This lady can bring tears to your eyes with belly-heaving laughter.
David Kau, the country’s’ own BEE comedian will be back performing at the Heavyweight Comedy Jam with his unique style of in your face comedy. All the way from Cape Town, one of the country’s funniest comedian Marc Lottering will be doing his first Heavyweight Comedy Jam fresh after his sold out performances earlier this year in Johannesburg.
Finally all the way from the UK, Martin Davis finishes off this HUGE line up promising to be one of the biggest jams of the year. Looking like some bizarre marionette tug-of-love struggle between Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, Martin Davis skids and bounces across the stage, strung up and tugged around by unknown forces, firing off a relentless rapid-fire assault that hits every corner of the room and kills 100% of all known hecklers stone dead. Going where mere joke-tellers fear to tread with his characteristic kamikaze bravado (“Go on, heckle me”) he walks the razor edge of audience participation, daring them to pick him off it. Martin has performed all over the world and at all major comedy festivals.
If you enjoy performances that guarantee a superb, toning workout of gut-wrenching laughter and uncontrollable giggles, be sure book your ringside seats for another hilarious and brilliant HEAVYWEIGHT COMEDY JAM! Bookings fill up fast, so rush to get your tickets to the fight of the century!
