Suitable for the whole family, there are many varied activities to keep everyone entertained. Personal game drives to see rhinoceros, giraffe, zebra, buffalo and many other species of game; specialised boat trips take you to view hippopotamus and crocodiles; both activities are a bird watchers paradise with over 350 species of birds in their natural habitat. There is also elephanting, rhino walking and canoeing for the adventurous. Fishing expeditions for the competent angler as well as the beginner are organized so that you can participate in the thrilling sport of tiger fishing which is a specialty of Shayamoya.
If you prefer a quiet day, take a walk around the fascinating indigenous gardens which are a really point of interest hosting over 60 species of aloes, a variety of hawarthias, succulents, shrubs and trees; or soak up the sun around the pool with a drink at hand and muse over the true story when ‘Horny’, the rhino, visited the Lodge pool and Brian Blevin coaxed him out.
Neighbouring Game Reserves which include Mkuze, Hluhluwe/Umfolozi, Ithala, Ndumu and Tembe are all only 1 hour drive from the lodge so use this special venue to explore the area further. A day trip to the Indian Ocean, the well known diving resort of Sodwana Bay is also on the cards.
Alternatively, Shayamoya is ideally located as a overnight venue if you are heading to Southern Mozambique (Ponta D’Ouro) or any of the resorts in Northern KwaZulu Natal.

If you would like a completely unique experience then you can hire a luxury cabin on board Shayamanzi Houseboat for extended fishing trips, game and bird watching from the lake with the comfort of an exclusive floating hotel under your feet. Fully serviced, the Houseboats traverses the waterways with different anchorages each evening.
