Tasting of champagne and other bubblies from around the World
Friday, 27th of June 2008
Join The South African Society of Wine Tasters for an exciting tasting – a virtual travel through the best wine producing regions in the world.
You will be given the fantastic opportunity to taste seven bubblies – from a German Sekt and a Spanish Cava, to a French Champagne and many more.
You will be greeted with a steaming hot glass of Gluehwein, before Oliver Meckler – International Winemaker – will guide you through the tasting and share his knowledge about the sparkling liquid. After the tasting you will be treated to a winter-warming and hearty soup and we will taste some wines straight from wooden barrels.
The tasting will take place on the Friday, 27th of June 2008 at a beautiful venue in Linbro Park, on the outskirts of Sandton with ample and safe parking.
This fabulous tasting is brought to you by The South African Society of Wine Tasters, one of the oldest wine clubs in the country that recently celebrated its 35th birthday. They meet once a month – mostly the 3rd Friday – to taste exciting wines form around the globe, not forgetting their own excellent wines from the Cape. Most of the tastings take place at the Baytree restaurant in Sandton, where you will be spoiled by great food after the tasting.
