What Is It?
The Soweto Camp Festival is a three-day camping and musical festival that takes place every year during the Easter weekend. During the weekend, campers can enjoy a great lineup of activities, including quad biking, bungee jumping, indigenous games, a bicycle tour, a horse and carriage tour, live bands and numerous stalls. This year the festival will be celebrating its fifth anniversary by going #OFFGRID. They plan to plant 1 000 trees around Soweto and take one primary school #OFFGRID by using all the proceeds made via tickets sales and donations from sponsors. Also, they would like to get Soweto to turn off their electricity from 18:00 to 19:00 on 14 April 2017 to spread awareness about electricity consumption.
