Fancy savouring something deliciously different this spring? Joburg’s tastebuds will be re-awakened after winter as Taste of Jo’burg takes place for the first time in South Africa. Taste of Jo’burg involves 17 of the city’s most talented chefs all freshly preparing and serving their delicious signature dishes, outdoors al fresco style over four days. In addition to the city’s most prestigious restaurants, add premium drinks, upmarket lifestyle brands and a fabulous programme of live music and entertainment. The event will take place from Thursday, 6th to Sunday, 9th of September 2007 on the green fields of the Wanderers Club.

The restaurants and chefs featured at Taste of Jo’burg encompass a wide variety of food styles and genres popular amongst South Africans. They include French, Italian/Mediterranean, Japanese, Asian/Fusion, Thai/Sushi, International, Spanish/Tapas, Contemporary and Greek/Mediterranean.

Taste of London was launched by Brand Events in the summer of 2004 and has become the premier restaurant event in the UK and Ireland, with festivals in London, Birmingham, Bath, Dublin and Edinburgh. Taste of Chicago in the US is the world’s biggest Taste event. The Taste festivals internationally have been created in such a way that they reflect the spirit and culture of the host city and have been described as “The Chelsea Flower Show of Food”. Their refined mood and painstaking choice of venues lies at the heart of their unique appeal. Taste of Jo’burg promises a unique culinary highlight to the start of summer.
