Looking for delicious eats and treats to try? On your next date night, or even your next meet-up with friends, be sure to pop by one of these great restaurants.


If you haven’t heard, Kream recently opened up at the Mall of Africa. This super stylish restaurant aims to bring you upmarket dining at its best. The menu features salads, sushi and even gourmet sushi. Not up for fish? Kream also has delicious dishes from the grill and a truly sweet dessert selection.

You can take in the ambiance while sipping on a glass of rare whisky or brandy. Kream in Mall of Africa is home to the talented executive chef, Morgan Kloes so be sure to pay them a visit – you’re guaranteed to enjoy the fare on offer.


After much anticipation, Marble restaurant finally opened up earlier this month. The city’s first live-fire restaurant can be found in Rosebank and will offer Joburgers a unique, delicious dining experience, with a rooftop terrace and gorgeous views too.
Marble celebrates all types of ingredients cooked on coals, including fish, poultry, vegetables and breads. But, if you’re a meat and flame enthusiast in particular, put this restaurant on your must-visit list.

The Cosmopolitan

The Bar at Cosmopolitan is now a Gastro Bar. Thanks to the team at Cube Kitchen, you can enjoy delicious food, along with great wine, whisky, gin and bubbly.

Their menu includes duck, steak, pork, veggies and much more. And to accompany these delicious dishes, be sure to pick something from their extensive wine list. Enjoy!


In the mood for a little Portuguese food? Selva in Craighall Park is a recently-opened, Lisbon-inspired restaurant that has a number of delicious menu items on offer, including peri peri prawns, grass-fed steaks, grilled fish and more. Plus, you can take advantage of their great wine list.

They’re open from Tuesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner… so the next time you’re in the area, be sure to pay them a visit.

Choo Choo Junction

How does checking out a train-themed restaurant sound? Good? Then you best get to Choo Choo Junction in Linden. This new restaurant has everything from roasts and breakfasts, to lunches and evening meals, from Wednesday to Sunday.

And to top it off, why not enjoy a crisp beer or a yummy cocktail with your meal? All aboard for a delicious food journey (we couldn’t resist).
