Top South African performers take to the stage in winter season concerts

What is it?

The 2012 Old Mutual Music in the Gardens Series is the perfect way to spend a sunny Highveld Sunday afternoon.

This year’s line-up features a host of top South African performers including Dave Van Vuuren, Zahara, Jack Parow, Flash Republic, Die Heuwels Fantasties, and Ard Matthews.

The Old Mutual Music in the Gardens series presents live concerts throughout the winter season and is an extension of their sponsorship of the famous Kirstenbosch Music series in Cape Town.

Where is it?

The series takes place at the Pretoria Botanical Garden and the WaIter Sisulu Botanical Garden in Roodepoort.

When is it?

The season kicked off on Mother’s Day on 13 May at the Pretoria Botanical Garden with 2012 Idols winner Dave van Vuuren who will be performing numbers from his debut album Free The Animals, and ends on 9 September 2012.

The rest of the line-up is as follows:

  • 9 September (Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden) – Die Heuwels Fantasties

Gates open: 11h00
Opening act: 13h00
Main act: 15h00 (performances range from 45 minutes to an hour)
Gates close: 18h00

How much is it?

Tickets for all concerts are available at R5 from every pre-sold ticket (tickets purchased on the website) will be given to the Wildlands Conservation Trust for their Trees for Life initiative where community members grow trees to sustain their livelihoods.

Pre-sale at gardens: R90
On day sales at gardens and ticketbreak: R100
Children under 13 are free.

What else should I know? Facilities available: Restaurant and Tea Garden available on site.
Alcoholic beverages are for sale at the Restaurant and Tea Garden.
Guests are welcome to bring picnic baskets and blankets.
There will be a Kids Zone available from 13h30 to 16h30 during the performance.
