What is it?
The Witwatersrand Orchid Society is one of the oldest orchid societies in South Africa, and their aim is to promote the culture of orchids. At the Witwatersrand Orchid Society Autumn Show there will be lots of plants on display, plenty of them with their ribbon awards proudly displayed. Photography is encouraged! There will also be plant sales in the huge tent alongside the Floreum, where budding enthusiasts can find plants to start their own orchid collection. Throughout the day there will be demonstrations and talks from absolute novices to the members of the society. It is all about sharing knowledge. The WOS do encourage those with orchids to join the society, and benefit from their monthly meetings, as well as sharing the knowledge of other members.
