What Is It?
The festival offers loads of food, drink, and entertainment to keep visitors busy. Festival goers can look forward to Lunch In The City on Friday, 29 July 2016 from 12:00 onwards, gourmet street food from a number of fantastic traders, a great selection of South African craft drinks from the Joziburg Tasting Bar, and the best in South African food products from the Joziburg Deli.
And, that’s not all! You can also take a stroll down the lane and do a little shopping at Joburg-inspired entrepreneurial businesses, as well as enjoy some awesome music, offering a mix of ambience, some DJ sessions and live music too. Also, don’t forget to check out the sculpture exhibitions in the residential courtyards upstairs.
JoburgPlaces City Explorations
The Joziburg Lane is being developed as a traveller’s hub as to where to explore the city. In an exciting development, JoburgPlaces is introducing a new city exploration service, based at Joziburg Lane! Available to book on Saturday, 30 July 2016 and Sunday, 31 July 2016, starting and ending at the Joziburg Lane, you can enjoy:
- An hour-and-a-half talk and photo presentation about the mesmerising and regenerating inner-city,
- Followed by a two-and-a-half-hour city walking tour, taking in historic sites and trendy streets,
- Ending with a delectable lunch at the Joziburg Deli.
- Starts at 09:00 and ends at 14:00.

Tasty Tasting Bar
Experience the best tastes of South Africa during the Joziburg Lane Festival from 29 – 31 July 2016 at the Tasty Tasting Bar. The bar has spent months sourcing the best local craft producers for everything from beer and organic wine to gin, vodka, rum, brandy and more! There’s a fantastic selection of cocktails too, inspired by the history and development of Johannesburg.
Some of the premium products available at the bar include Ginifer, Angel Heart, Darling Brew, Stimela, Fernskloof Wine, Avondale Wine, Time Anchor Distillery, 031 Distillery, Inverroche, and Hope on Hopkins, just to name a few. The tasting bar will open permanently in September. In the meantime, be sure to sample their selection of craft drinks at the festival.
Joziburg Deli To Open Permanently
As of Tuesday 26 July 2016, the Joziburg Deli will be open Tuesday to Saturday, every week, from 09:00 – 17:00. Enjoy a tasty light lunch in the city and marvel at Joziburg Lane. With ample seating in the food hall and on the mezzanine deck in the sun, it’s the perfect place to escape to for an hour, also for a quick business meeting, or lunch in the sun with friends and colleagues.
The deli serves coffee, tea, juices and soft drinks, as well as a selection of cheese platters and gourmet sandwich rolls. Also browse the shelves for a wide variety of South African food products to take home (cheeses, olives, relishes, preserves, cured meats and more).

Friday, 29 July 2016 to Sunday, 31 July 2016. Opening times are as follows:
- Friday, 29 July 2016: 12:00 – 22:00 (foodstalls open for lunch, everything else open from 18:00 onwards).
- Saturday, 30 July 2016: 10:00 – 18:00 with the bar and deli staying open later.
- Sunday 31 July 2016: 10:00 – 16:00.
