HotChocolate

I absolutely LOVE hot chocolate! Seriously, I just can’t seem to get enough of the stuff. I even bring my own box of hot chocolate to the office to keep the chilly weather at bay. But, I must say I prefer the decadent hot chocolates that are prepared at coffee shops and restaurants  they have some sort of magical power that make them taste so much better! So, if you are looking for a spot for your kids (or yourself) to enjoy a hot mug of chocolate goodness, then check out my list of Top 10 Hot Chocolate Spots In Joburg.

Warm & Glad – Craighall Park

Warm & Glad is the ideal spot if you are looking for a great cuppa Joe. But they also have some of the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted! They have three chocolatey options to choose from depending on whether you want a caffeine fix with your sweet treat or just something super decadent. They have a great mochaccino made with Valrhona chocolate, or just a straight hot chocolate, which also made with Valrhona chocolate. Yum!

Vida e Caffe – Hyde Park

Iced or hot, I like my chocolatey beverage either way … and that’s why I love visiting Vida e Caffe. You can order your hot chocolate in three different flavours to keep the chills away. Yummy flavours include hazelnut, cherry and marshmallow! Or, if you want something iced on a warm winter’s day, then The Chocolate Frio (blended ice, Lindt chocolate and milk) is also the way to go!

Salvationcafe  Milpark

The only reason I visit Salvationcafe is for their irresistible hot chocolate! Their Belgian hot chocolate (which is made with REAL Belgian chocolate!) is the perfect way to warm up on those cold winter days. So, sit back and relax with a good book, a cup of their addictive hot chocolate and melt away those winter blues!

The Whippet  Linden

This is definitely one of my favourite spots when I am looking for a bit of relaxation and a good cup of hot chocolate. It’s rich and creamy and will hit the spot instantly. Other good chocolate treats to try at this spot are their White Chocolate and their Double Chocolate, served with espresso!

Motherland Coffee Company  Rosebank

As the name suggests, this spot is the Motherland of all coffees! And, not only do they have fantastic coffee to warm you up from the inside out, but they also offer wonderful chocolate options if you’re looking for a treat. They offer divine hot chocolate and white hot chocolate, or the Iced d’Ivoire if it’s a warm day.

Vovo Telo  Cresta

I was so happy when Vovo Telo opened up shop at Cresta! Nothing goes better with freshly baked bread than a cup of Belgian hot chocolate! You can also choose from other options like the Chocotelo and the Chocolate Vovochino (with a caffeine kick).

Cramers Coffee  Marshalltown

For a quick pick-me-up, Cramers Coffee offers five chocolate-filled options to warm you up. If you are looking for some caffeine, then their Mocha, Mocha Bianca and Hazelnut Mocha will definitely hit the spot, and best off all, they are rich and delicious! And, for non-coffee drinks try their hot chocolate, white hot chocolate or hazelnut hot chocolate.

Father Coffee  Braamfontein

Okay, this spot is strictly a coffee haven, offering everything from ristretto and espresso, macchiato, cappuccino to lattes. They also offer the hot chocolate that seems to scream my name everywhere I go – the Lindt hot chocolate! Yum!

Caffe Rossini – Various Outlets

This has become one of my family’s favourite little cafes to visit over the weekend. Café Rossini offers a wide variety of hot drinks, but obviously I will head straight for their hot chocolate selection. I absolutely love their café mocha!
