Cafe Sofia – Greenside

Everything’s groovy at this 70s decorated tapas and meze bar, with its retro colour scheme and top spot along the Greenside strip. Think fusion tapas that borrow from European, North African and Middle Eastern cuisine, and you can round the meal off with one of their sweet tapas desserts. Café Sofia offers a host of drink and food specials. Good spot to continue sipping your sangria into the night.

Mythos at Design Quarter – Fourways

Mythos brings you delicious Greek cuisine served in an elegantly stylish atmosphere, making it the perfect spot if you want to have an intimate dinner for two or just a relaxed lunch with friends and family. There is a lovely selection of mezes to choose from and share, giving you a variety of flavour to indulge in.

The Office – Greenside

This is the perfect spot if you are looking to meet up with friends after a long day at the office and are in need of some great cocktails and delicious tapas to nibble on! This is more of a lounge-like setting (versus a restaurant) where you can sit back and relax. With smoky mirrors, white leather couches, low lights and stylish drinks, there is no better place to end off your day!

Plaka – Eastgate

This is definitely one of my favourite spots when I am looking for some great Greek food! They have a delicious selection of tapas for you to choose from, which goes along just perfectly with their delicious selection of dips to add a little more zest! My absolute favourite are the Keftethes (homemade meatballs) and the Calamari stuffed with feta and peppers!

Crazy Horse – Parktown North

The menu at Crazy Horse is all about sharing, so it is no surprise that they have a rather extensive and impressive selection of tapas for you to choose from! There is a great mix of Mediterranean delicacies with a hint of Italian. And, if you are feeling more ravenous than peckish, there is a selection of pizzas and pastas for you to enjoy.

Thava Indian Restaurant – Norwood

I have been to this spot a number of times over the years, and all I can say is that I cannot get enough! They have a great selection of curries that come in nice little pots, perfect for sharing if you what to have a bit of variety among your table.They are also known for their Northern India inspired, tapas-style dining. I definitely love the lamb khorma!

The Grazing Room at DW 13 Eleven – Dunkeld West

For some fine dining, DW 13 Eleven is the place to be for delights that will tantalise your taste buds. But, if you are looking for something to snack on or want something to share among the group, be sure to head to their Grazing Room and take a look at their selection of tapas. Their Italian spring rolls have my mouth watering and I love the sound of the Smoked mozzarella, parma ham and rocket with a white cream sauce! Yum!

Oliva Bar and Kitchen has followed from the success of the well-known Fino, and offers you a cosy and intimate spot for a first date. I love the sounds of the Pinchito Morunos – three tender de-boned leg of lamb skewers marinated in various Spanish spices!
