We live in the largest urban forest in the world, so we might as well take advantage of the ample amount of picnic spots around town. From Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens to Zoo Lake… the options are virtually endless. No matter in which direction you travel you will find a public park with a playground and loads of shade to chill under. All that’s left is for you to drag out the picnic basket from the car. There are also a bunch of cool dog parks and walking spots for your fury friends.
Sun’s out, beer’s out. It’s time to get our lounge on with a cocktail or three at many of the rooftop bars in town. From Randlords in Braamies to the Living Room in Maboneng… it’s all good in the hood. Be sure to check out Greenside and Melville street-side vibes as well. Lounging around with a good cocktail is one of the best ways to spend some quality spring time.
It’s become a trend to hang around markets: artisan snacks, craft beer, good music… you get what we’re on about. The best way to wind down a good weekend is to hit one of your favourite markets with a couple of friends. Neighbourgoods is always a good choice, or maybe you’d dig to check out a vegan food market – either way, you won’t be disappointing.
Embrace the warm weather and take full advantage of all the awesome restaurants in and around town. From outside eating spots to fancy hotel food, Jozi has it all. You can always take a trip to Harties and enjoy the riverside restaurants and cafes. Don’t forget to tag us in your food photo snaps!
With the weather turning for the better, the little ones can run around without you worrying about them catching snot noses. Spring brings with it awesome activities for kids to enjoy. From trampoline bouncing to wall climbing, there is zero shortage of awesome stuff to do.
Spring Day Events
The best part of spring is the cool spring events taking place. From music festivals to beer festivals, it’s all taking place in the city of gold this year. We’ll see you at all of them because, you know, everyone loves a good party.
