Want To Earn More Discovery Vitality Points? Here’s How!

If you’re part of the Discovery family, then this is your opportunity to improve your health this year and earn even more Vitality points! The point system is rather simple – the more points you earn, the higher your status in the Vitality Programme. Wondering how to earn Vitality points almost instantly? Then keep reading to find out what you can do to earn more points.

Find Out Your Vitality Age

Your Vitality Age is a good indicator of how healthy you are in relation to your actual age. You’ll need to fill in a questionnaire that’ll measure all aspects of your wellness, including exercise, nutrition, and stress. The sections in the questionnaire will cover everything – your and your family’s medical history, your key measurements (ensure you have a measuring tape and scale handy), your smoking status, alcohol intake and eating habits, productivity, stress levels, as well as physical and other activity levels – so ensure you’re as accurate (and honest) and possible.

Points earned: 2 500 Vitality points.

Tip: You can also activate the HealthyFood Benefit and receive up to 15% back on HealthyFood bought at Pick ‘n Pay or Woolworths when you discover your Vitality Age.

Know Your Health

Discovery offers a number of assessments for you to take to determine how healthy and fit you are. The more steps you take to understand and improve your health, the more points you earn and increase your Vitality status. Assessments you can do include:

The Vitality Health Check – This check is made up of five measures – blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, a BMI assessment which includes weight, height, and waist circumference, and signing a non-smokers declaration.

Points earned: Up to 20 000 Vitality points depending on how many results are in range.

The Vitality Fitness Assessment – This assessment measures your fitness level and is made up of two parts – your cardiovascular fitness level and your strength and flexibility. After this assessment, a bio-kineticist will inform you on what you need to focus on to get stronger and fitter.

Points earned: 2 500 Vitality points and up to an additional 5 000 Vitality points depending on your fitness level.

The Vitality High-Performance Fitness Assessment – For athletes who take part in sporting activities regularly, this assessment will test your physical fitness and endurance using a maximal test. Before you do this assessment, you may need clearance from your doctor.

Points earned: A bonus of up to 10 000 Vitality points on top of the points earned from the fitness assessment.
