The QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA) and The Brightwater Common will be presenting Wheels for Christmas on Sunday 5th December, from 12noon to 2pm. This exciting event will aim to set a record for the largest gathering of Santa’s in one venue; and people of all ages are invited to done their Santa suites, arrive at the commons, and be counted.
Be it Santa Clause or Mother Christmas, all are invited – even a red T-shirt, Santa hat and beard will suffice. Just remember to arrive on wheels. Drive your car, ride a motorcycle, bicycle or tricycle; whiz in on your skateboard; or bring your baby in a pram – any set of wheels will do. The aim of this event is to raise funds for QASA.
A fee of R30 will be required for participation and one can register and pay online by visiting their website. Registrations will also be taken on the day. This initiative will also feature a competition whereby one can stand the chance of winning R3000 worth of gift vouchers from The Brightwater Commons.
QASA is a non-profit organisation that represents the needs of quadriplegics and paraplegics in South Africa. The association strives to prevent spinal cord injuries; as well as protect and promote the interests of people with mobility impairments
The organisation strives to assist people with mobility impairments to lead independent lives and encourage and promote integration into mainstream society. Help is provided in areas ranging from personal care and assistance devices all the way to skills development and employment. QASA has six regional branches which service members all over South Africa. Outreach is of the most utmost importance and QASA as projects, products and services to assist all members in need
