Wickhead has been chosen from thousands of bands internationally as a nominee for both Artiste of the Year – Hard Rock and Single of the Year – Hard Rock for the single, ‘Bright Lights Boulevard’ in the 16th Annual International Los Angeles Music Awards.
Other bands that have received nominations or awards over the years in the LA Music Awards include, Black Eyed Peas, System of A Down, Coal Chamber, No Doubt, Korn, Everclear, Slash, Joe Walsh, Trevor Rabin, Jack Black and Jackson Browne amongst others.
This is a huge honour for South African rock and Wickhead specifically to be included in such a tremendously talented hall of fame. No stranger to industry accolades, Wickhead’s debut album, ‘If It Hurts, It’s Healing’, was nominated locally for a SAMA for ‘Best Rock Album’.
Wickhead is currently leading the pack on the international online competition Rockstarlottery.com. In July 2006 they were invited to the launches of the competition in the UK and performed at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool amongst other venues and recently headlined the blunt Magazine stage at this year’s Woodstock music festival. Their latest album release, ‘A Crush on Revelation’ has already spawned two smash hit singles on rock radio and campus radio.
Be sure not to miss this internationally acclaimed band live at Roxy’s on Friday, 3rd of November.
