To enter competition SMS your name, age and the word ‘WIMPY’ to 32310 – R1.00 per SMS.

June 16th, 1976, saw the youth of Soweto rise against the police in a protest which was aimed at shedding light to the poor education system which students of the area and many other areas in South Africa were subdued to.

The events of the day shook the nation and sent tremors across the globe… shedding more light on the subject than any of the peaceful protestors of the day would have expected. The celebration of youth day stands to testify how ideas born in a classroom can change the future of a nation, and open the eyes of the world.

Wimpy will be hosting a youth day breakfast at a very reasonable R19.76 to commemorate and pay tribute to those heroes who died fighting for justice and for those heroes still alive today.

Wimpy believes in the youth of South Africa and knows that education is the key to a young individual’s success in life. As such, Wimpy is giving away one bursary valued at R19 760 to put towards an education trust or to use for current education fees. To enter, simply SMS the word WIMPY, your name and age to 32310. Each SMS costs R1.00 and you can enter as many times as you like. The competition closes at midnight on Sunday, 21st of June, 2009.
