What Is It?
Don’t miss out on the 19th Encounters South African International Documentary Festival, bringing film junkies another viewing fest of extraordinary, wide-ranging non-fiction experiences. They have selected over 70 local and international features and shorts, ranging from the urgently political to the performance of the personal. These films reflect and refract the current state of our world, offering different visions of this uncertain time.
Highlights from the international selection include premières of acclaimed films. Among them, Raoul Peck’s masterpiece, I Am Not Your Negro, Yance Ford’s Strong Island, and the acclaimed Last Men in Aleppo. And keeping with the spirit of international dialogue offered by the recent South African Focus at Visions du Réel in Nyon, Encounters presents an exciting focus on contemporary Swiss documentary films.
