Africa Week 2018

A full week has been set aside for Africa Day festivities in May 2018, with activities focusing on arts and crafts, screenings and dialogue, plays/theatre on migration and xenophobia, poetry and music. 

What Is It?

Serious issues, such as xenophobia, will also be discussed and debated, there will also be a dialogue with Embassies, Intergovernmental and Traditional leaders where there will be sharing of information on challenges and resolutions on undocumented migrants. Guest speakers will feature the likes of Mayor Herman Mashaba (Mayor of Johannesburg), Dr Mpho Phalatse, Martin Pearson, Jessica Green and many more.

Friday, 18 May 2018 – Friday, 25 May 2018.

Where Is It?

There are two venues:

  • Alexandra Stadium, 12th Avenue, Alexandra, Johannesburg.
  • Joburg Theatre, Loveday Street and Hoofd Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
