The Aladdin magic carpet ride is gearing up to entertain audiences at the Theatre of Marcellus, Emperors Palace. The fairytale favourite is back and ready to dazzle both young in age and at heart.

Along the way you will meet the not so clever but very diligent Genie, who helps our hero overcome the villainous Abanazer, and ultimately win the heart and the hand of the Princess Jasmine.

A visual delight, Aladdin’s adventures take place against the backdrop of an opulent and exciting set by Marius Boshoff, with the enchanting Palace, the dark eerie Dragon’s Cave and the chaotic laundry. Special lighting effects are used for Aladdin’s flight on his magic carpet and spectacular journey to the roof of the world. Extravagant costumes by Linda Wilson capture the Arabian culture in all its splendour.

A sharp-witted and exciting production that teaches of bravery and strength of character, Aladdin is a must-see family fun fantasy. Aladdin fans, or anyone looking for an afternoon of captivating entertainment can catch the show from Friday, 3rd to Sunday, 19th of July 2009, with two shows taking place everyday at 15h00 and 19h00 from Wednesdays through to Sundays. With adventure and fun from Aladdin, the mischievous Monkey and the rest of the gang, the magic carpet ride is set to be an exciting and captivating journey for the entire family.

Tickets for the show can be bought through the Emperors Palace Box Office during office hours or through Computicket. Ticket prices are R75 per person (including Computicket service fee). Club members and groups of 10 will pay R60 per person.
