Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival 2018


In celebration of Youth Day, Constitution Hill will have a number of fun events lined up to commemorate this special day. Expect art exhibitions, films, a heritage cycling tour and a music festival – all FREE. 

What Is It?

Basha Uhuru is back for its fifth edition, featuring art exhibitions, film screenings, creative dialogues, a heritage cycling tour and a music festival, all spaced out over five days. This creative and exciting festival commemorates the youth of 1976 in their fight for freedom and equality and the coming-of-age of our constitution, which is celebrating its 21st anniversary. Check out the festival programme below to see what’s in store:

28 June 2018 – Conversations of Freedom

  • 18:00 to 21:00
  • Conversations of Freedom Creative Dialogues
  • Free admission

29 June 2018 – Expressions of Freedom

  • 17:00 to 21:00
  • Expressions of Freedom Exhibition Contemporary art exhibition showcasing work by emerging and established young artists
  • Free admission

30 June 2018 – Visions of Freedom

  • 10:00 to 22:00
  • Visions of Freedom – Film Fest
  • Free admission

Booking is essential for the free music concert. Keep an eye out on their Facebook event page for a booking link.

  1. this is an awesome programm, am so adamant that we Still have the opportunity to Commemorate The days of 1976, where our mother’s, father’s,grandparents and the hero’s and heroines who fought for our Freedom and showjng the spirit of Ubuntu.
