Belle’s New Skinny Menu Is Absolutely Delicious!

Belle’s Patisserie has a brand new healthy menu full of flavour!

Great news! Belle’s Patisserie has just recently launched their new Skinny Menu and everybody here at headquarters loves their food! From decadent cakes and cupcakes to three-course plated meals, we have always enjoyed tucking into delicious treats in celebration of birthdays in the office or just for the hell of it. And, last week as part of our year-end festivities, Crystal decided to surprise us with something different – a selection of healthy dishes from Belle’s Patisserie’s new ‘Skinny Menu’. At first everyone seemed rather sceptical as we all ‘believe’ that healthy meals are rather bland and not so tasty, but as soon as we tasted the dishes we quickly changed our minds!

Belle’s Patisserie is well-known for their decadent and indulgent delights from amazing red velvet cupcakes and glorious cupcakes to crois-nuts and rich desserts, and we have had the privilege of sampling most of these yummy goodies. The local patisserie is definitely the ideal place if you’re looking to pick up something to satisfy your sweet tooth or treat a special someone. But now they have added something different to their menu so their fans can have their cake and eat it too! Banters, Paleo fans, vegans, the gluten intolerant and vegetarians rejoice because this one is for you! The brand new‘Skinny Menu’ embraces a number of different lifestyles and I have never seen a menu with such a wide variety of options to choose from, that caters to those that are living a healthier lifestyle or have specific dietary needs! The menu is clearly marked with a key at the bottom of the menu which customers can check out to see if a certain dish fits in with their diet. The Skinny Menu has definitely made eating out a whole lot easier!

The selection of dishes we had at our little lunch were absolutely divine! We indulged in some Paleo grain-free bread, Chopped Quinoa Salad, Chopped Asian Coleslaw, Crustless Quiche and Cauliflower Wraps as the main event to our lunch. Everyone loved and commented on the Chopped Quinoa Salad – Quinoa tossed with baby spinach, feta, raw sweetcorn, capers, hemp seeds, pomegranate, mint, avo and micro greens, dressed with poppy seed dressing. And theCrustless Quiche was also another favourite, filled with roasted butternut, goat’s cheese, halloumi, garlic, chilli, mint & thyme served with watercress & onion relish. We could not believe that such healthy options from their skinny menu tasted so good.

To end off the lunch on a sweet note, we all tucked into a number of healthy desserts. Everything was sugar and gluten free yet tasted just as good as the normal desserts with the ‘bad’ ingredients! Fran’s Cheesecake – baked low fat cheesecake on an almond crust with blueberry mint coulis – was the best cheesecake I have ever tasted, and I couldn’t help but go back for more while everyone else was tasting all the other options. The rich and tasty Hemp Brownies were devoured in minutes and the Paleo Poppy Loaf was a refreshing finish to our meal. Since Belle’s Patisserie is famous for its red velvet cupcakes, we couldn’t help but also try their Skinny Red Velvet Cupcakes to see if there was a difference between the two, and I can confidently say that there is no difference at all – it tasted just as good, just minus the guilt!

Belle’s Patisserie definitely surprised us with their Skinny Menu. We didn’t expect any of the dishes to be so full of flavour and more-ish. I definitely have more incentive to stay on my Banting diet thanks to their Skinny Menu – the cracks were beginning to show, but I’m back on track! The Belle’s Skinny Menu is only available at their Blubird Shopping Centre store but offer Skinny Treats and three of their Skinny salads at their other stores. So be sure to visit them if you are looking for healthier breakfast and lunch alternatives and guilt-free sweet treats!
