Elvis Blue, the winner of Idols season 6 in 2010, is set to bring his passionate pop music to The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino for one night only on 25 June.
Elvis Blue, whose real name is Jan Hoogendyk, hails from George in the southern Cape. His musical journey began as a youngster singing in school choirs and busking the streets of Joburg and Scotland. Under the name MONO, Elvis was signed to Gallo Record Companys RPM division and released three albums with the record label.
He finally moved into the big leagues of South African music when he won Idols 2010. The judges praised him for his sincere and passionate delivery.
Judge Mara Louw said: “Every time Elvis sings, you can tell he is singing from the heart, and that is important.”
