South African born Priya Singh, now an internationally acclaimed singing sensation, jets in from Hong Kong for her first South African concert since the international release of her album, “Pyaar Rocks”. This two-day musical explosion promises to be a star-studded extravaganza and features a host of musical stars including popular music maestro Tansen Nepaul.
Singh is set to mesmerize the audience with her show stopping performance of songs like “Raste Mein”, the number one song of the year for 2008 on Lotus FM. Lead by the talented Aabir Mukherjee, the album was recorded and produced in India by a host of musicians from all around the country. Described as a classic pop-rock themed album with catchy melodies and electrifying rock guitar, the album took almost a year to complete and already has the critics singing its praises.
The album includes the first instance of lyric writing by Priya who says, “Writing my own lyrics is something I was always been keen to try, despite having a limited Hindi vocabulary. Being a novice, lyric writing involved months of hard work, and I am thankful for the guidance received by accomplished Urdu poet, Saffi Siddiqui in validating my lyrics. A special mention goes to South African lyricist Indira Ramadeen who penned the songs “Haar Gayi” which was the number 2 song of the year for 2007 and “Raste Mein”, the number 1 song for 2008. Evidently both of these songs feature on the upcoming album “Pyaar Rocks”.
The evening promises to be a spectacular fun filled show of song, dance, comedy and music and is a must see for Priya fans across the country.
