Experience warm and reputable South African hospitality at Francolin Cree. The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa has recently graded Francolin Creek as a four-star guesthouse in the Country House category.

Service is a priority at this family-owned and managed farm establishment. Set as a tranquil oasis on a working farm outside the town of Heilbron in the Free State, Francolin Creek portrays a humble mix of true South African history and modern accommodation.

There are several bird species on the farm, and in particular, the Francolin roams in abundance. This is the motivation for the name of the farm, Francolin Creek. The guesthouse boasts a superb 12-unit portfolio, and has the facilities to spoil 26 overnight guests.

The magic of a Free State thunderstorm accompanied by the option of a traditional farm-style home cooked meal is true to the atmosphere of the guesthouse. Dotted with millions of bright stars, the night sky is the only roof to the vast and rolling grasslands, stocked with game a plenty and the magic of Africa in it’s most potent form. Francolin Creek is one of four farms that belong to the Riemland Wine Route.

Your hosts at Francolin Creek, Wessel and Leonie Hattingh are experts in the field of fine hospitality and invite you on a virtual tour of this uniquely South African experience. Feel at home!
