Legendary Afrikaans music star, Kurt Darren, is set to take the stage again at Gold Reef City Casino’s The Lyric Theatre for an exclusive show on Saturday, 27th of June, accompanied by his live band. The performance is set to be an electrifying once-off show, following his hugely successful appearance at the venue last year.

This performance falls in line with a commitment from Gold Reef City Casino and The Lyric to bring world-class South African entertainment to local audiences at affordable prices. Kurt, the 2009 South African Music Award winner for Best Afrikans DVD (Treffers Live) and Best Sokkie Dance Album (Uit die Diepte van My Hart), will be performing smash hits from his record-selling CD’s, including hits from his successful album, Uit die Diepte van My Hart.

Kurt Darren, who was born in Pretoria and matriculated from the Lyttelton Manor High School, has been interested in music since he can remember. Fully fluent in English and Afrikaans, Darren is able to write songs and sing in both languages to entertain bilingual audiences.

His big breakthrough came in 2002, when he recorded Meisie Meisie, the song that turned him into a star. Meisie Meisie was one of the Top 3 South African hits of 2002 and has achieved Double Platinum status.

Currently, Kurt is touring right across South Africa, and regularly performs abroad for his adoring fans. He has about 10 albums under his belt and a long string of smash hits to his name. His latest album, Uit die Diepte van My Hart, is gaining extensive airplay and is riding high in the charts.

Kurt Darren, backed by a live band, will appear at The Lyric for one night only. Tickets are priced at R120 and are selling fast from Computicket and The Lyric Box Office.
