Summer is the perfect season to explore the magnificent Magoebaskloof area of Limpopo Province. Hike or drive through the indigenous forests or traipse over the grasslands and discover the wonderful birdlife for which the area is famous. The Woodbush Forest Reserve is home to the rare Cape Parrot, Narina Trogon, the Olive Bush Shrike and the Buffspotted Flufftail among many others. The forest boasts massive yellowwood and forest fever trees, tree fuchsias, tree ferns and a myriad waterfalls, which tumble down to streams and rivers flowing to the lowveld.
There is plenty to do in the area from fly fishing, hiking and horse riding to adventure sports such as abseiling, kloofing or river rafting. Take time off to explore the village of Haenertsburg which dates back to Gold Rush days.
